You Don’t Need Every Answer
Knowing where to find trustworthy guidance—and when to ask for help—is what matters.
MEET DR. G
After nearly four decades caring for children and guiding parents, I created Pediatric Parent Guide to make trustworthy pediatric information easier to understand and use.
You know your child. I’m here to help you understand what you’re seeing and give you a calm, trusted place to begin.
WHY I CREATED PPG
For decades, I cared for parents who were worried, exhausted, and simply trying to do the right thing for their child.
Most were not looking for endless medical information. They wanted to understand what matters, what can wait, and when to call their pediatrician.
Pediatric Parent Guide brings those calm, practical explanations beyond the exam room—giving families a trusted place to begin whenever questions arise.
“My goal is not to tell parents everything. My goal is to help them understand what matters.” — Dr. G
MY PEDIATRIC BACKGROUND
Clinical care, medical education, and leadership—all centered on helping children thrive and giving parents greater confidence.
For decades, I cared for parents who were worried, exhausted, and trying to do the right thing for their child.
Pediatric Parent Guide offers calm, practical explanations to help families understand what matters, what can wait, and when to call their pediatrician.
I am a board-certified pediatrician who has spent nearly four decades caring for children and guiding families. For more than 35 years, I served as Chief Medical Officer of a busy pediatric practice, combining direct patient care with responsibility for clinical standards, team support, and consistent, thoughtful care.
Medical education has remained an active part of my career. I have had the privilege of teaching and mentoring medical students, pediatric residents, and pediatric nurse practitioners as they developed the knowledge, judgment, and compassion required to care for children and families.
During my residency training, I served as Chief Resident. Later, I served as Chairman of Pediatrics at a community hospital, where I helped support clinical collaboration, pediatric care standards, and the work of fellow healthcare professionals.
My career also included work as a neonatal physician in a busy neonatal intensive care unit, caring for preterm infants and newborns requiring intensive medical support. That experience deepened my understanding of the challenges families face during some of their earliest and most vulnerable moments.
Today, I bring that clinical, educational, and leadership experience to Pediatric Parent Guide so families have a calm, practical place to begin—while preserving the essential relationship between parents and their child’s own pediatrician.

My career has included medical education, service as Chief Resident and Chairman of Pediatrics, and NICU care for preterm and medically fragile newborns. I bring that experience to PPG to help parents understand what matters and know where to begin.
WHAT FAMILIES HAVE TAUGHT ME
Knowing where to find trustworthy guidance—and when to ask for help—is what matters.
Your child’s age, behavior, history, and overall condition give a symptom meaning.
Asking what to watch for, why something is recommended, and when to seek help is part of caring well for your child.
HOW PPG CONTENT IS CREATED
Pediatric Parent Guide is designed to make reliable pediatric information clearer and more useful for families. Every article is developed with medical accuracy, practical context, and parent understanding in mind.
Every PPG article is created with medical accuracy, practical context, and parent understanding in mind.
A SPECIAL NOTE TO MY FELLOW PEDIATRICIANS
Pediatric Parent Guide is designed to reinforce—not replace—the care you provide. My hope is that better-informed parents will recognize important changes, ask clearer questions, and feel more prepared for meaningful conversations with their child’s pediatrician.
